Schedule a Facebook and Instagram post in Meta Business Suite (2026)

3 min read

What you’ll have at the end

One post written in Meta Business Suite and scheduled to publish on your Facebook Page, and on your Instagram account too if it's connected, at the date and time you choose. Meta says you can see your scheduled posts in the Planner tab.

Before you start

You’ll need

  • A Facebook Page you can create posts for
  • Your Instagram account connected to that Page, if you'd like to post to both
  • The words, photos or video for your post
  • The date and time you'd like it to publish

What it costs. Scheduling a post isn't an ad. Meta's help on posting and scheduling lists no charge for it.

Meta says that if your Facebook Page and Instagram account are connected, your posts are published to both by default. If they aren't connected yet, please add your Instagram account first, or post to Facebook only.

Meta's scheduling help for Pages says you can schedule posts to publish between 20 minutes and 29 days away, and that all times follow your current time zone.

Please have your words, photos or video ready. This guide uses Meta Business Suite on a computer.

Steps

  1. 1. Open Meta Business Suite

On a computer, go to business.facebook.com, sign in, and choose the Page you'd like to post for.

  2. 2. Go to Content and click Create post

Go to Content, then click Create post. Meta says the post composer opens.

  3. 3. Check Post to

Under Post to, check which places are selected. To publish to only Facebook or only Instagram, unselect the other one.

  4. 4. Write your post and add your photos or video

Write your post, and add any photos or video. On the right of the screen, Meta shows a preview of how your post will look on Facebook and Instagram. Please check both.

  5. 5. Turn on Scheduling options

Turn on the toggle switch for Scheduling options.

  6. 6. Choose the date and time

Choose the date and time you'd like the post to publish. If you'd like Meta's suggestion, click Active times to see when your audience is most active.

  7. 7. Click Schedule

Click Schedule. Meta says you can see the post in the Planner tab, or in Content > Posts & reels > Scheduled. This guide ends here.

If something looks different

  • To change the time later, Meta's help says to go to Content > Posts & reels > Scheduled, find the post, click Options, then Manage post > Reschedule post, set a new date and time, and click Reschedule. You can also click the post in the Planner calendar and choose Reschedule post.
  • If you're not ready to schedule, click Finish later instead of step 5. Meta says the post is saved as a draft in Content > Posts & reels > Drafts.
  • If you start from your Facebook Page instead, Meta's Page help says to click Meta Business Suite in the left menu, then Create post, and that the switch may read Set date and time.
  • To schedule a reel or a story, Meta offers Create reel and Create story next to Create post. Their steps are different.
  • Meta is moving people to Meta Accounts, so your account settings may be under Accounts Centre or Meta Account settings.
