Terms of service
The terms,
in plain English.

What this is. Alongrail is a guided software tool. It reads the screen area you choose when you ask it to, then gives you the next step. It guides you. It doesn’t operate your accounts for you.
Who you’re dealing with. Alongrail, operated by its founder, Ragul Srinivasan, from Chennai, India. The contact for anything under these terms is hello@alongrail.com.
Use your judgement. Alongrail’s guidance comes from what it can see, and it can sometimes get something wrong. You decide whether to follow a step. Take extra care with money, permissions, important settings, deleting data, and publishing.
Your account. We email you a sign-in link — no password to remember. Anyone who can read your email can reach your account, so keep it secure, and don’t forward sign-in links. One account per person.
Tasks and payment. One task is one job. Two free tasks last 10 days. A pack of 25 costs $20 and never expires. There is no subscription. If a task ends unfinished in its first few steps, it’s returned to you automatically. If one ends unfinished after real work, write to us — we’ll look at it and return the task if that’s fair. Payments are handled by our payment provider, who is the merchant of record; we do not see or store card details. Refunds are covered on the refunds page.
Learning. Courses are free for now; when that changes it will be said plainly on the pricing page first, and nobody’s existing course is taken away. A completion record describes work you did on Alongrail. It is private until you publish it, and you can unpublish it at any time.
As Alongrail changes. This is a young product and it changes. If these terms change materially, this page and the date at the top change with it. If the service is discontinued, unused tasks are refunded.
Accuracy and responsibility
Instructions are generated by a language model reading the screen area you share. They are frequently right and occasionally wrong.
You decide what to do in your own software, and you are responsible for what happens there — money spent, data changed, permissions granted, content published. Take a moment before important changes, particularly where a budget or a permission is involved.
Alongrail is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from acting on a suggestion, and our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the previous twelve months.
Acceptable use
Don’t use Alongrail for anything unlawful, and don’t use it to get past a screen you aren’t authorised to be on.
Don’t resell or redistribute the output as a product of its own.
Automated or scripted use is not permitted. Every session costs us real money and the allowances are set for people.
We may suspend an account that breaches these terms.
Service and changes
Alongrail requires Chrome or Edge on a desktop or laptop. Requirements are published on the homepage and on How tasks work. The Power BI course additionally needs a Windows PC, because Power BI Desktop has no Mac version.
Features change as the product develops. If we make a material change to these terms we will update this page and the date at the top. If the service is discontinued, we will announce it here and refund unused tasks.
Governing law
Indian law applies, and the courts of Chennai have exclusive jurisdiction.
