When sharing doesn’t start or you’re on a phone
What you need to run a task, and what happens on a phone.
On a phone or tablet
You can describe your goal and sign in on a phone. Sharing needs Chrome or Edge on a laptop or desktop, so the page says “Not on this device”. Your goal is saved to your account: open Account on your computer, and it’s waiting under “Carry on”.
On a computer
Use Chrome or Edge. On a Mac, macOS asks once for screen-recording permission; if the shared screen comes through black, switch on Chrome in System Settings → Privacy and Security → Screen Recording, then quit Chrome completely and reopen it.
If no picker appears at all, your browser or your workplace may be blocking screen sharing.
