Your whole team can use Desk, and a quiet month costs nothing. Each guided session costs less than a dollar, with nobody from your team on a call. Start with a free trial, with no card. After that, you can buy a pack whenever you need one. Packs never expire, and nothing renews, so there’s nothing to cancel.

A workflow is the steps Desk guides a customer through, with its link. You’re welcome to try Desk on your own product before you pay anything. Anything the trial doesn’t use carries into your first pack.

What uses 1, and what’s free
Uses 1 from your balance
- Each guided session. One customer, walked through one task. A guided session of fifty steps uses the same 1 as one of five.
- Each help article. A new help article, or a refresh of one you already have. It’s counted the first time you press Finish the article.
Always free
- Making, rehearsing and publishing a workflow. Only a customer’s guided session uses 1.
- Changing the words of a help article, reading a step again, downloads and undo.
- A customer who opens your link but leaves before Desk shows them the first instruction. A guided session counts only once Desk has seen your software on their screen and shown them the first instruction.
Included once you’ve bought any pack
- As many people from your team as you like.
- As many help documents and workflows as you like. (During the trial, one workflow can be published at a time.)
- All of Findings: where customers stall, what they typed at each step, and where your help articles and your product disagree.
- The “Guided by Alongrail” line on the card a customer sees at the end of a guided session can be turned off. During the trial it’s always shown.
When your balance runs low
Nothing stops at once when your balance reaches zero. Your links keep starting guided sessions for 10% of your last pack, and at least 20. Those come out of your next pack.
A guided session that has already started is never cut off.
We’ll email you when 80% of your balance is used, when it reaches zero, and halfway through what can run past zero.
Nothing is deleted when your balance runs out. Your help articles, workflows and session records stay where they are, and your dashboard still opens.
Buying more than one pack
Buy either pack as often as you like. Every pack adds to the same balance. If you buy a pack during the trial, the trial ends, its unused guided sessions and help articles carry over, and you can publish as many workflows as you like.

Refunds
An unused pack can be refunded within 30 days of buying it. Please write to hello@alongrail.com and we’ll refund it in full.
Paying
Payments are processed securely at checkout, and we never see your card number. Any tax due where you are is added at checkout. If anything about a payment isn’t right, please write to hello@alongrail.com and we’ll put it right.

Questions
What counts as a guided session?
One customer going through one workflow, from the first instruction until it finishes or stops. Opening your link and reading the start screen doesn’t count.
What counts as a help article?
Each new help article, and each refresh of one you already have, the first time you press Finish the article. A help article you never finish isn’t counted.
Do the 2 trial help articles come out of the 10 guided sessions?
No. The trial gives you 10 guided sessions and 2 help articles, separately. Both carry into your first pack if you don’t use them.
Do packs expire?
No. What you don’t use stays in your balance.
Is this a subscription?
No. Each pack is a single purchase. Nothing renews.
Do Findings depend on the pack?
No. Every desk gets all of Findings.
