How sessions and packs work

What counts as a session

A session counts when Desk has seen your software on your customer’s screen and shown them the first instruction. Opening your link, reading the start screen, sharing the wrong window, or leaving before the first instruction never counts. Sharing again within the same session doesn’t count twice. Your own rehearsals never count.

The price is per session, not per step. A session that runs to fifty steps costs the same as one that takes five.

The free trial

The trial lasts 14 days and includes 10 guided sessions and one published workflow, with no card. Rehearsals of your workflows are included too.

If your desk was started with a personal address, your first 5 rehearsals and 3 readings are available straight away; confirming a work email, an address at your company, raises them to the trial’s own.

When the trial has ended or its 10 sessions are used, new sessions and rehearsals don’t start. A session already running is never interrupted, and nothing is deleted: your material, workflows and session records stay where they are.

Session packs

A pack is bought once and never expires. 100 guided sessions cost $99, and 500 cost $399, plus tax. Buy either pack as often as you like; every pack adds to one balance, and sessions you don’t use stay in it.

Buying a pack during your trial ends the trial, keeps its unused sessions and lifts the one-workflow limit. Unlimited workflows and documentation reads come with any pack.

When your balance reaches zero

At zero nothing stops at once: your links keep starting sessions for 10% of your last pack, at least 20, and those come out of your next pack. A session already running is never cut off. We email you as your balance runs low.

Refunds

An unused pack can be refunded within 30 days of buying it; please write to hello@alongrail.com. Once any of its sessions are used, a pack is not refunded, but if something on our side stopped it working, please tell us and we will put it right or refund it.
