Set holiday hours on your Google Business Profile (2026)

4 min read

What you’ll have at the end

Holiday hours on your Google Business Profile for the dates you choose, with each day set as closed or open at the hours you enter. Google calls these special hours. Google says your special hours appear to customers only for those dates, and your regular hours don't change.

Before you start

You’ll need

  • A verified Google Business Profile
  • The Google Account linked to that profile
  • A computer
  • The dates you'll be closed or open at different hours, and those hours

What it costs. Google's help on special hours and on editing your profile doesn't mention any charge.

This guide is for a profile that's already verified. Google's help says you can edit your verified Business Profile. If your profile isn't verified yet, please verify it first.

Please sign in with the Google Account that's linked to your Business Profile. Google says you need that account to edit your business info.

Google says that for special hours to show on your profile, your business hours must be set to Open with main hours. If you haven't set your regular weekly hours yet, please see the first point under "If something looks different".

Special hours are for a short change. Google's special hours help says you can set them if your business adjusts its hours or stays closed for up to 6 days in a row. If you'll be closed for 7 or more days in a row, Google says to mark your business as Temporarily closed instead.

Google's holidays page lists, by country, the holidays on which a warning may appear on your profile saying your hours might differ. Google says you can set special hours for those dates in advance.

Steps

  1. 1. Sign in to your Google Account

On a computer, sign in to the Google Account linked to your Business Profile.

  2. 2. Go to your Business Profile

Go to business.google.com and open your Business Profile.

  3. 3. Select Edit profile

    Select Edit profile.

  4. 4. Select Hours

    Select Hours.

  5. 5. Next to Special hours, select Edit

In the Business hours section, next to Special hours, select Edit.

  6. 6. Choose the date

Please choose one of these: - If Google suggests a date you'd like to set, select Review. - To set a date of your own, select Add a date, then enter the date. - To change a date you've already set, select that date.

  7. 7. Set the day as closed, or enter your hours

    • If you're closed that day, please make sure the Closed box is checked.
    • If you're open that day, uncheck the Closed box, then enter the times you open and close.
    • If you're open at two separate times that day, select More, then Add hours +, and enter the second set of hours.
  8. 8. Select Save

Select Save. Google's help on editing your profile says: "We review your changes before we update them live on your profile." This guide ends here, at that review.

If something looks different

  • To change your regular weekly hours instead, select Edit profile, then Hours. In the Business hours section, next to Hours, select Edit, then Open with main hours. Check the box next to each day you're open, set the hours with the dropdowns, and click Save.
  • If your hours on the date run past midnight, Google's special hours help says a set of special hours can't exceed 24 hours. If they run from before midnight to past noon the next day, Google asks you to split them into two sets: one that runs until the end of the first day, and one that begins at midnight on the second day.
  • To remove special hours you've set: if the day is closed, select Delete next to the date. If the day is open, select More next to the hours, then Remove day.
  • If only some of your services keep different hours, Google says to set More hours rather than special hours.
  • If you manage your profile from Google Search or Google Maps instead, Google says some features may differ between Search and Maps.
