Learn · The SQL track

SQL, in three levels

Each level ends with something you built and a record that links to it. You can stop after any one of them, and what you earned still stands on its own.

SQL Foundations

Read a database you did not build: find rows, count and total them, group them, and bring two tables together.

6 sessions·About 10½ hours

Earns: a Foundations completion record, linking the set of queries you built on your own.

In development

SQL Practitioner

Answer questions one pass cannot: outer joins, subqueries, set operations, CTEs, and changing data safely.

Earns: a Practitioner completion record.

In development

SQL Professional

Window functions, recursive queries, making queries fast on purpose, and designing a schema others will query.

Earns: a Professional completion record.

Finish all three

Completing all three levels earns the Alongrail Certificate in SQL: three levels, three sets of queries, each one built on your own. Like every record, it’s private until you publish it.

Awarded for three completed levels and the three projects linked above.

Each level also earns its own record as you finish it. The certificate comes when all three are complete — Practitioner and Professional are in development.

The record is a description of work you did, not a claim about you. The certificate is the same, three times over. It’s issued the moment your last level record exists, private until you publish it, and yours to unpublish.
