Learn · The Python track

Python, in three levels

Each level ends with something you built and a record that links to it. You can stop after any one of them, and what you earned still stands on its own.

In development

Python Practitioner

Build the analysis somebody else will re-run: plots, reshaping, and more than one file.

Earns: a Practitioner completion record.

In development

Python Professional

The analysis other people depend on: data from somewhere other than a file, and code that runs without you.

Earns: a Professional completion record.

Finish all three

Completing all three levels earns the Alongrail Certificate in Python: three levels, three notebooks, each one built on your own. Like every record, it’s private until you publish it.

Awarded for three completed levels and the three projects linked above.

Each level also earns its own record as you finish it. The certificate comes when all three are complete — Practitioner and Professional are in development.

The record is a description of work you did, not a claim about you. The certificate is the same, three times over. It’s issued the moment your last level record exists, private until you publish it, and yours to unpublish.
